Kanzara

A longitudinal village study site in Maharashtra.

Kanzara is a village in the Akola district of Maharashtra, in India's semi-arid tropics. It is one of the villages in ICRISAT's Village Level Studies (VLS) — among the longest-running household panels in the developing world, tracking rural life since the mid-1970s. FieldVista's research builds on that legacy through three resurvey waves (2007, 2013, and 2022), following the same households and their social and economic networks over time to understand how agrarian life changes across generations.
