Submission Guidelines

We publish four types of content. Choose the format that best fits your contribution.

Policy Bites

800 - 1,200 words

Quick, accessible summaries of policy developments, new research findings, or emerging trends relevant to agriculture, rural development, and climate resilience.

  • Must include supporting data or evidence
  • Accessible language preferred over jargon
  • Clear policy relevance and takeaways
  • Author bio (2-3 sentences) required

Expert Commentary

1,500 - 2,500 words

In-depth analysis on specific policy issues, drawing on the author's research expertise, field experience, or domain knowledge to provide nuanced perspectives.

  • Must cite sources and empirical evidence
  • Author bio and institutional affiliations required
  • Original analysis preferred over literature reviews
  • Structured with clear section headings

Grassroots Voices

800 - 1,500 words

Field-based perspectives, practitioner experiences, and interviews with community members that bring ground-level realities into the policy conversation.

  • First-person accounts and narratives encouraged
  • Photos from the field welcome
  • Context about the community or region
  • Ethical consent for any interviews

Working Papers

5,000 - 15,000 words

Full-length academic research papers with rigorous methodology, data analysis, and evidence-based policy recommendations for peer review and publication.

  • Abstract required (250 words max)
  • Methodology section with clear research design
  • Subject to peer review process
  • References in APA or Chicago format
